Minister Avcı opens the Sacred Heritage exhibition
Minister of National Education Nabi Avcı opened the “Sacred Heritage” exhibition organized by the Islamic Culture Art Platform with the contribution of the Turkish World Foundation at the Eskişehir ETİ Archeology Museum Exhibition HallMinister Avcı thanked every person who worked in the organization of the exhibition and stated:
“I am sure that our fellow citizens in Eskişehir would show interest to this exhibition. Let us inform our students, teachers, religious officials at mosques, schools and communities about this exhibition so that they would all come and see these thousand years old wonderful works. It has been said that “Quran was revealed by Allah in Mecca, recited in Cairo and written in İstanbul”. So, we Turks are proud to do the best calligraphy of the Quran. But I have to mention that we, the Turks, have another important feature, we are a nation who listens the Quran the best, as well. Yes, we write, read and listen to the Quran beautifully… Throughout history, Turks are a nation that have turned listening to the Quran with submission to Allah, respect, reverence and affection as an art. I just experienced the same feelings in the silence that dominated this hall when the Quran was recited.
Following the speech of Avcı, the exhibition was opened with the participation of Eskişehir Deputy Salih Koca, Vice President of Religious Affairs Hasan Kamil Yılmaz and Eskişehir Governor Azim Tuan. Later, Minister Avcı visited the exhibition.
