Minister Avcı meets Jordanian Prime Minister Nusur

On the second day of his official visit to Jordan, Jordanian Prime Minister Abdullah en-Nusur received Minister of National Education Nabi Avcı at his office.

Minister Avcı started by conveying the good wishes of Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu to the Jordanian Prime Minister and extended his condolences to the martyr Jordanian pilot who was kidnapped and murdered by IŞID.

 

“Turkey will always support Jordan in its struggle against terrorism and strong cooperation between Turkey and Jordan on the prevention of terrorism shall always continue,”

Minister Avcı said adding that;

“We believe that strategic cooperation between two countries must also include education. As a result the previous visits of Jordanian Ministers of National Education and High Education were conducted, rectors of 10 Turkish universities visited Jordan and held a series of meetings. Within this framework, we hope that the cooperation between two countries in the field of technology will continue at the current pace. We will start the Jordanian-Turkish Technical University Project as soon as possible. Moreover, we are asking the support of the Jordanian state for the construction of dormitories what will play host to international students who would come to Jordan for language training. In addition to the university project, it is possible for us to focus on a Turkish-Jordan high school project.”

 

Meanwhile, Jordanian Minister Nusur invited his counterpart Ahmet Davutoğlu to Jordan adding that, “We wish that strategic cooperation between the two countries shall gradually develop and we wish that we would establish stronger commercial relations.”

Prime Minister Nusur stated:

“Turkey has a very respectable place in the World. Turkey has political, economic and commercial experience which we would like to share. Today, the Republic of Turkey is the greatest supporter of the Palestinian cause. Turkish state’s stance in this cause is appreciated by the Arab people. We highly appreciate Turkey’s efforts.”

 

Prime Minister Nusur also told Minister Avcı that he wished Turkish citizens who travel to Jerusalem to visit Mescid-i Aksa would pay their visits via Amman instead of Tel Aviv.

Jordanian Minister of National Education Muhammed Taneybet and Minister of High Education and Scientific Research Emin Mahmud, Konya Deputy Cem Zorlu and Ministry of National Education General Director of European Union and Foreign Affairs Ziya Yediyıldız were also present during the meeting.
