Besides Prime Minister Davutoğlu Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç, National Education Minister Nabi Avcı, Family and Social Policies Minister Ayşenur İslam, Justice and Development Party (AK Party) deputies and a large gathering of party members attended the event.

Speaking at the ceremony AK Party Chairman and Prime Minister Davutoğlu said a political movement that is not fed with books will feel it is left in a vacuum and added “when passing through this vacuum it can indulge in cyclical, daily and passing desires or views. We are fed by books, we are fed by science, but above all we come from a deep rooted tradition and civilization that has placed the book and science and knowledge right in the center of everything and we promote a life that has been shaped around it.”
