Speaking at the opening ceremony of 4th year of Milk Program Minister Avcı noted that the program has been continuing for four years adding that,”Here, I would like to thank the Ministries of Food, Agriculture and Husbandry and Health. We expect that approximately six million students will benefit from this program this year.”

Following his speech, Minister Avcı distributed milk boxes to 2/B students. When a student from the class asked the teacher how to stick a needle on the balloon without popping, Minister showed how to stick a needle on the balloon without bursting it popping and said teachers will teach them how to do it in physics, adding that the needle should be stuck into the point where the gases are in balance, or else the balloon will burst.

When another student asked the Minister Avcı if he had drank milk when he was a child, he responded: “Yes, I did. Who should we thank for this milk? We have to thank breeders, dairy farmers, factory workers, milk box producers, those who fill the milk boxes, who load them to trucks, who drive these trucks, who collect them from villages, who store them and who deliver this to us. See how many people are working in order to produce a single box of milk and there are some machinery, too. Due to this reason, milk is a very valuable nutrition and we have to be thankful for this.”

When a student asked the Minister Avcı how many glasses of milk a child should drink a day, he said he himself drinks half a bottle of Atatürk Forest Farm milk every day but a student should drink more milk for his growth and asked the parents of student to note this fact.
